How it Works
The no-waste revolution is here.
Revolution Label follows the three principles that form the basis of a truly circular economy:
Designing out waste and pollution
Waste is a design choice, not a by-product. Products and processes can be created and designed to minimize waste at all stages of their lifecycle.
Label liners are coated with silicone to ensure that labels dispense correctly. This silicone-lined paper cannot be recycled with traditional methods and ends up in landfills or incinerators.
With Revolution Label’s reimagined recycling, the process is designed to de-siliconize label liners. We maximize the recovery of material and design out waste.
Keeping products and materials in use
We’re running out of resources, yet producing more waste than ever before.
To close the loop on a truly circular economy we need to minimize our use of virgin materials and maximize recovery of materials.
When Revolution Label recycles your label liners, we produce new labels from existing materials, keeping them in use instead of sending them to landfill.
Protecting and regenerating natural systems
To be truly circular, just avoiding harm is not enough; we need to improve the natural environment.
The high standards of the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), ensure that any virgin material in our products comes only from forests that are responsibly managed, socially beneficial, and environmentally conscious.
When Revolution Label sources raw materials, they come from forests that are and will remain thriving environments for generations to come.
Be part of the Revolution solution
Label release liners designed with a silicone coating are difficult to recycle. For almost every sticker you see, the liner has likely ended up in a landfill. Approximately, 380,000 tonnes of label liner is landfilled annually in North America.
If it could all be captured and recycled, the savings would be more than;
Trees
BTUs OF ENERGY
POUNDS OF DISPOSAL
TONNES of CO2
The Revolution is here, and label liners are no longer destined for the landfill.
Recycling liners requires specialized techniques and equipment to remove the silicone coating from the paper before it can be recycled.
While some plants convert used liners to energy sources, the Revolution Label system converts the recovered paper fibers from the liner, back into usable material.
Recovering paper fibers from silicone-coated label liners.
Your liner waste is mixed with water. A precise high-consistency pulping process disintegrates the paper, while minimizing breakdown of the silicone and other contaminants.
This makes it easier for Revolution Label’s proprietary process to separate silicone from fibre.
Fibres are screened and washed to remove impurities
A multi-stage de-watering process thickens the fibres and prepares them to become new paper stock.
Your discarded liner becomes rolls of new paper stock, ready to make new labels or liners.
